The period under the British Rule, has been one of the most poignant one in the history of the country which touched each and every person's life. The people of the country where always faced with the dilemma whether, to see the positive of the Raj or to continue with the obsolete ways of living in the name of keeping up with the tradition. In this lucid story that is parallel to explain the political unrest, lack of direction and unity in the country, is explained with the help of the view point of the people who form the main characters of the story. Nikhil, Bimala and Sandip are all doing what they find the best thing to do from their perspective but it is the lack of clear understanding and discrepancy of beliefs that complicates things.
