Historical and Modern Practice of Career and Technical Education

A lot is hinging on Career and Technical Education (CTE). CTE, sometimes called by other names including vocational education, technical education, or vocational education and training, has always been important but never as important as it is now. The heritage of CTE is in the need for society to pass on knowledge of how to undertake routine work. But work in the 21st century is anything but routine. Guiding CTE to the future is a difficult task because the landscapes is shifting and CTE is at a crossroads. The discussions in this book are selected with the intent to contribute to understanding the nature of CTE practices as part of the foundation for moving forward.
