Health risk coverage in Côte d'Ivoire

Prior to 2014, C te d'Ivoire did not have a national system for covering the entire Ivorian population against the risk of illness. With the introduction of Law N 2014- 131 of March 14, 2014 instituting Universal Health Coverage (CMU), the country aims to fill a gap in its social security system, in this case the population's lack of protection in the event of illness. This book underlines the country's ambitious goal of achieving universal health coverage, but highlights the complex challenges that need to be overcome to achieve it. These challenges encompass structural, organizational and financial aspects. By analyzing the implications of this law and examining the initiatives undertaken since its introduction, the book reveals a complete picture of the transition of the healthcare system in C te d'Ivoire. It highlights the progress made to date and identifies persistent shortcomings, while offering a realistic vision of the prospects and adjustments needed to move towards universal health coverage.
