Professor emeritus Fridrik Thordarson celebrates his 77th anniversary on the 7th of March 2005. On this occasion, his friends, colleagues and students wish to honour both his scholarly and human qualities with a Festschrift. The book contains international contributions to all the fields Fridrik has covered in his research and teaching, spanning from Graeco-Roman antiquity to India, Iran and Caucasus.
