The essay on Blois is the only one of the series which now makes its first appeal to the public. Perhaps, in their present con secutive form, these papers may have enough of symmetrical unity to secure for the archi tectural matters of which they treat a more intelligent popular interest than could be obtained by any sort of disconnected publica.
