Meticulously researched and inspired by a sheaf of notes left by his birth mother before her passing and informed by interviews with first mothers of the Baby Scoop era. In Gliding Through Goodbye, the author has recreated his mother's diary in the years from 1948 through 1956, following her as she performed across the United States, South American and Europe. Gliding Through Goodbye sensitively interweaves her emotional journey in the years following placing her son for adoption with her physical travels.
