Functional Analysis: The Unity of Contrasting Themes Funktionsanalyse: Die Einheit Kontrastierender Themen
The British musician and music theorist Hans Keller (1919-1985) who was born in Vienna/Austria, wrote several books about Igor Strawinsky, Benjamin Britten und Joseph Haydn as well as articles about Mozart, Beethoven, Schonberg, about film music and about methods in music analysis and music theory. In 1957 Keller invented a nonverbal method of music analysis (-functional analysis-): Analytical results are presented as interludes during the performance of a musical piece and the logical network within a composition can easily be heard."
