Fuel Quality

Technological advances and the ongoing energy transition demand a rigorous and systematic approach to fuel quality control. This paper presents a comprehensive view on the need for clear regulations, metrological traceability and uncertainty management as pillars to ensure a reliable and sustainable supply. From the determination of sulfur content to distillation and octane number tests, each technical parameter is a critical tool not only to comply with local regulations, but also to align energy policy with international environmental commitments.Experience shows that quality is not improvised: it is planned, controlled and built with technical knowledge applied in all links of the value chain, from refineries to service stations. In this context, the National Fuel Quality Control Program and the incorporation of advanced testing methods represent a strategic advance towards transparency, efficiency and consumer confidence.
