An advocate for children, Verlena O. Hawkins has fourteen years of experience with foster care and mental health. She is a financial-literacy counselor, speaker and facilitator for women groups. Her passion is sending cards to encourage women on difficult journeys. Verlena graduated from Sinclair Community College with a mental health degree and Capital University with a degree in social work.
