Fragments: Notes, Poems, Vietnam

While the author was a combat rifleman in Vietnam during the war, he kept a journal in which he recorded the situation as it actually was as he saw it from his first person point of view. The content of the journal is authentic and sheds light on an aspect of history that is now growing dim with each passing year. The author also wrote poetry to occupy his spare time and try to take his mind off the reality of war for a time. In this volume, the journal and the poems are woven together in a way that captures the external life and the interior life of a young man existing in the middle of one of America's most trying and divisive nightmares.
