Mary Richardson has the American dream, or that is what her friends and acquaintances seemed to think--married to a highly regarded cardiologist, living in a beautiful home on Galveston Island, and able to have anything that money could buy. Yet, she lacked the most important things in life--love and family. Separated at three years old from her father after the death of her mother, she was raised by an aunt who gave her a respectable upbringing but little emotional support.
