At 8-years-old, Ty is told by his father the hotel is his reponsibility. Ty is told his parents are leaving. For ten years, Ty secretly runs the hotel with only one person noticing. Wayne does not make himself known to Ty. When Ty is 18, Gabriel (18) starts working at the hotel. Gabriel feels he is led to work there. He tries to befriend Ty.
