Evaluation of algofunctional perception in patients with osteoarthritis

Knee osteoarthritis is a slowly progressing joint disease that affects the articular cartilage and underlying tissues. The damage causes remodelling of the subchondral bone, formation of osteophytes, ligament laxity, muscle weakness and synovial inflammation. The aquatic physiotherapy approach has often been used as a conservative treatment aimed at improving functional capacity and quality of life.
