It is a critical biography of the life of the scholar Wu Mi and comprehensively describes his experience of studies and scholarship. Wu Mi came from a cultural family in Shaanxi Province. Hence, he has received quality education since childhood, studied in the United States and traveled to Western Europe. Wu Mi taught Western literature in a foreign language but loved ancient Chinese poetry. He also participated in the preparation and founding of the Tsinghua Academy of Chinese Learning as well as journal Critical Review.
