Equine Parasites

Though equine is an important pack animal in India and in many other countries, sufficient information is not available about its common parasitic diseases in textbooks on Veterinary Parasitology. The present book is, therefore, an attempt without any claim of completeness, to highlight concisely important parasitic diseases of equines reared in Indian subcontinent. It is assumed that students, teachers, equine practitioners and equine owners dealing with this host species will be benefited to a greater extent in understanding various parasitic diseases of equines, scope for further investigation on the unsolved problems as well as for adopting suitable control measures with ultimate aims of raising economy of equine owners.I am confident that this book, a first attempt, would prove useful to students, teachers, equine practitioners and equine owners. It is, of course, expected that the veterinarians engaged in management of equine herd would be benefited by giving feedback for bringing out a subsequent more informative and illustrative edition.
