Encountering Jesus

Throughout the first four books of the New Testament--the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John--we read the story of Jesus of Nazareth. We learn about who he was and what he did as he lived, taught, healed, and walked in first-century Judea. And most of his story is told through his encounters with other people--the poor, the rich, the religious, the lost, the healthy, the sick, the oppressor, the oppressed, the disabled, the forgotten, and more. Some of these encounters brought hope, healing, and transformation. Others were met with resistance, anger, and even hatred.

Today, Jesus is still encountering people--including you--through his Word. As you delve into this six-session study of Jesus's life and ministry, you'll not only learn who Jesus was and what he came to do, you'll grow in understanding and confidence in studying God's Word and applying it to your life. Each session includes an overview, memory verses, prayer prompts, Bible study strategies to engage with Scripture on a deeper level, and questions for further reflection to help you encounter the loving and transformative presence of the Lord Jesus.
