Eastern Europe in the Post-War World (1961) examines the conditions in the ‘satellites’ of Eastern Europe before as well as after the Second World War. Its analysis of the effects of Soviet intervention in the satellites, not only on the satellites themselves but also on the Soviet empire as a whole, is a close reading of the politics of Eastern Europe at the time of the Cold War.
