Diode Manual

Introduces the layman or beginning electronics hobbyist to the diode, one of the workhorses of electronics. The book gives a history of the diode from the early days of the Fleming valve and the Cat's Whisker detector to the modern diodes such as the computer switching diode and the modern zener diode. The book concentrates on three types of the most common diodes so as not to overwhelm the reader. Basic circuits are given for power supplies, voltage regulators, safety circuits, modulators and demodulators and oscilloscope waveforms are shown to give better understanding as to what is happening in the circuit.
