Dinner Stories evolved from a literary club in which each member was expected to write a paper, preferably an interesting one, and to host a dinner once a year. One longtime member, Daniel Hughes--who loves a good story in which the protagonist inspires the reader in some way--decided to turn his ten-year collection of essays into a book.
