Demon Carousel's Hunger

The seaside town of Gristlehook had been rotting for years. The paint peeled from the old boardwalk like molting skin, and the wind always carried the salt-sting of secrets. Tourists didn't come anymore. The only things left were mildew, ghosts, and the guttural wheeze of the broken calliope still echoing faintly from the amusement park ruins. Some said it played on its own. Some said it had a favorite tune.
