This book takes a close look at the tradition of critical dialogue between ancient philosophical ideas and Islamic scholars. The author investigates the tradition that started with al-Ghazali and continued during the Ottoman period with important scholars like Hocazade and Ali Tusi. These scholars produced critiques and counter-critiques vis- -vis the ancient philosophers and each other on a wide range of topics, such as the eternity of the universe and the existence of Allah.
