Once everything dear to the person is lost, and only the obsession stays - then does one truly understand the issues that reside in ones self. John has always had a crush on Melanie Mercer, as far as you will know. Through years of growing up together, and holding on to the idea that she was absolutely perfect - John has to figure out how to handle the way he approaches Melanie about his feelings when the two are reunited once again. John's perspective completely fleshes out the kind of person that he is, and his uniqueness, and outward thinking will resonate with any reader, while another mysterious character that comes into play later in the story will provide the dark, and eerie side to ones mind that will have the same connective effect with the reader.
