Critical Sports Studies: A Document Reader provides students with a selection of essays that examine social problems in sport. Readers are challenged to critically consider various topics to better understand how the global phenomenon of sport can lead to challenges both on and off the field.

The second edition features new readings on racism and the display of the Confederate flag in NASCAR racing; gendered harassment in sportscasting; LGBTQIA discrimination in sports and coaching; politics in the Olympics; and racism and stereotyping in college sports and on campus.
