A fish once stopped play in Sri Lanka. The two-foot specimen landed in the middle of the wicket, dropped by a sea eagle. When Gareth Lewis hit a six in a game at Nawton, North Yorkshire, the ball landed in a car radiator grille and ended up in a garage in Kirkbymoorside, some three and a half miles away. Two cricket teams from Keswick in the Lake District once played on skates on the frozen Derwentwater Lake.
