Constable Garrett and the Dead Ringer

The story follows Constable Garrett as he begins his new posting as the policeman for the village of Port Eddy, and soon finds himself in love and embroiled in the investigation of the local murder during a horseshoe tournament. The victim is a "e;ringer"e; from Toronto, smuggled into town and presented as a local. The investigation is led by a big City detective, but when his lady-friend's uncle is accused, Garrett swings into action, solves the murder and wins the girl.
