Concise Etymological Dictionary of the English Language

Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. The first edition of my 'concise Etymological Dictionary of the English Language' was published in 1882, and it has since passed through several editions. Each successive edition contained several Corrections and additions, in order that the work might be, to some extent, brought up to date.
