Climate change is one of the most important global environmental challenges, with implications for food production, water supply, health, energy, etc. Addressing climate change requires a good scientific understanding as well as coordinated action at national and global level. Each country—in fact each region within a country—will feel the impact differently and require area-specific remedial action. The only commonality is that no region will be spared the direct impact of climate change. India, with its diverse environmental regimes and geographical features will find it especially difficult to ensure that the right measures are utilized at the right time to counteract the impending threat.
