Chocolate's Dream

Winner at the 2016 International Latino Book Awards. Chocolate was abandoned when he was little, but he did not lose hope and kept looking for a home. When he meets Sarah, his neighbor, his sense of smell told him that one day they would be great friends. All he needed was for Sarah to love him...Everyday Chocolate wakes up in his shelter, the old abandoned mill, and goes in search of some food, barking with joy. As always, he hides behind the fence of Sarah's house for hours, watching the girl do her homework. Something tells him that he and Sarah can be really good friends. Chocolate imagines that he is already part of her family, and his heart fills with hope. Dreaming of a better future, he manages to overcome the sadness of his past, the memory of that summer when his family abandoned him...Chocolate's Dream is the tale of a little dog who is looking for a home. This is a story to help make children and adults aware of the need to respect our pets, and to be responsible and care for the animals who give us all of their unconditional love and loyalty.
