The techniques used in Orthodontics and Dento-Maxillary Orthopedics to achieve important changes in facial appearance, can be favorable or become detrimental depending on the quality of treatment planning. "We can be experts in the use of the latest techniques and technologies offered by the "market", however, they are of no use if we are not able to reach an accurate diagnosis of the clinical case in question. This is fundamental and must be supported by adequate complementary examinations. Among these, cephalometry is of special importance. For a correct interpretation of this, it is essential that the cephalometric reference planes are stable and as little affected as possible by the growth of the adjacent maxillofacial bone structures.Taking this as a central point and after a long research process, I make a contribution to radiological cephalometry by proposing several measurements.
