This study aims to explain the socioeconomic and occupational conditions of female care workers in Honduras. It is a mixed research design. It includes data from the September 2022 Encuesta Permanente de Hogares de Prop sitos M ltiples (EPHPM) and the 2018 II Encuesta Centroamericana de Condiciones de Salud y Trabajo (II ECCST), as well as in-depth interviews with women organized in the Red de Trabajadoras Dom sticas de Honduras (RTD) and interviews with public officials. First, socioeconomic and occupational conditions are explored from both surveys. Correlation analyses are then conducted to determine the factors that have the greatest impact on income. The in-depth interviews were treated by means of qualitative thematic analyses. The results confirm the totally precarious conditions of women workers, characterized by low wages, unstable working hours and lack of access to social protection. Furthermore, it is concluded that the improvement of their conditions can only be achieved through organized struggle, because it is a class struggle in essence involving the demand for better income and recognition.
