C Pirate Letters

Treasure-seeking pirates are continuing their handwriting adventure. This leads them to start learning the valuable skill of the C-shaped letters as they trace around objects in the sand. In this second group of letters, they learn: c, a, g, d, q, o, s, e.

Pre-reading skill with the story, the pirates recognize that they can not spell words without the vowel letters. Lucky, a helpful bird, is close by to mimic the vowel sounds and draw attention to vowel letters. The vowels: a, o, & e, share the 'c' shape curve in this story. The illustrations in the story are used to show children the similar shapes and motions for this group of letters.
