A boy, a dog, the Great War and broken hearts. This is the journey of Bertie Lanyon in a cruel, war ravaged time. Living with the horror and misery of World War 1, Bertie and his friends seek adventures to ease their struggle with the loss of innocence and the burden of death and war.  With youthful resilience they embark upon a succession of quests that culminate with the building of a theatre of remembrance for those they had loved and lost.
