Hi everyone, I'm Gregory Westlake. After retiring, I decided to finally write the story that has been rattling around in my head for years. It's called The Book of AETHER.I love Sci-Fi and I love Fantasy, but I rarely see them collide in a way that feels real. I wanted to write a story about what happens when a hard-science mind is dropped into a high-fantasy world.Dr. Cassandra Blackwood is a physicist in 2053. She is rational, logical, and working on an experiment to manipulate time.Then, everything goes wrong.She wakes up in a meadow, eons in the future and time travel had nothing to do with it.. The world she knew is dust. In its place is a medieval society ruled by a deity called AETHER. There are beings that look like elves, there are impossible beasts, and there are people wielding what looks like magic.Everyone tells Cassie she is a prophesied General sent by God to save them. But Cassie isn't a believer. She's a scientist.She doesn't look at a "e;spell"e; and see a miracle; she sees an equation she hasn't solved yet.
