Being A Trauma-Informed School All Year Round

This is a love song for our schools and education settings for those who work so tirelessly within them and for the wonderfully diverse and unpredictable children who enter them.
From food insecurity to household turmoil and the influence of social media, there are a range of mental and emotional struggles stopping children from truly bonding and connecting within their school community. This book offers an opportunity for school staff to understand trauma and reflect on their own responses to the challenges their students face on a daily basis.
Spanning the standard school year, each chapter provides practical strategies for tackling the issues schools regularly encounter at different points in the year. Each chapter features true-to-life stories and scenarios from which to discuss, develop and refine how we support young people.
