Basics of Optical Fiber Communication

The book begins with the advantages and disadvantages of optical fiber communication system over convectional copper wire system. Basic working principle of optical fiber is covered here. Types of fibers is covered in detail. Different fiber fabrication methods are discussed in short, with the diagram. Propagation of the optical signal is incorporated with the transmission losses.
