This publication is an edited English translation of the 'Bārāmāhā' by Srī Gurū Gobind Singh Jī from the Srī Dasam Granth. The Bārāmāhā is literally translated as 'the twelve months'. The Bārāmāhā is not unique to Sikhism and there are hundreds of different Bārāmāhā scriptures created by both Hindū and Muslim poets, saints and intellectuals. Within the Sikh scriptures we find a number of scriptures under the name of Bārāmāhā authored by the Sikh Gurūs. Within the Srī Gurū Granth Sāhib Jī there are two Bārāmāhā compositions, one authored by Srī Gurū Nānak Dev Jī in Tukhārī Rāg and the second authored by Srī Gurū Arjan Dev Jī in the Mājh Rāg. Srī Gurū Gobind Singh Jī also wrote two Bārāmāhās to mirror those written by his predecessors. Many still believe that Srī Gurū Gobind Singh Jī only wrote one Bārāmāhā and the other one is usually forgotten about. The two Bārāmāhās are found within the epic 'Krishnā Avtār Kathā'. The Bārāmāhās of Srī Gurū Gobind Singh Jī are similar to the Bārāmāhās found within the Srī Gurū Granth Sāhib Jī. They relate to the separation and the pangs of despair that an individual experiences when they are not with their beloved.
