Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies Senior Thesis: Understanding the Impact College of St. Benedict and St. John's University Has on their Students from

College of Saint Benedict's (CSB) and Saint John's University (SJU) both have many students of who come from Hong Kong. Hong Kong students are special to CSB-SJU because they are a concentrated population who comes from the same city; many of these students have connections to the universities, whether they have family or friends who are studying at these universities or they know alumni. These students also often return back home after graduation. In this paper I will talk about how these students' education at CSB-SJU, how CSB-SJU goes about recruiting these students, and how the education has impacted their life and their future. Not only will I talk this aspect, but I will also talk about how studying at CSB-SJU has affected the way they view and are viewed by society when they return home. I will first look at how the students education at CSB- SJU has impacted their life and their plan for the future. I will look at how their education helped them with finding a job after graduation, look at how people view them 6 back home because of their experiences in the United States, and other aspects that their time at CSB or SJU has done to impact their future. I will do this though interviews of current students, recently graduated, and older alumni. In addition to interviews, I will look at statistics of job fields Hong Kong graduates end up in, and look at averages of Hong Kong graduates each year. One final aspect I will look at is why students from Hong Kong come to CSB-SJU. I will be able to better understand how CSB-SJU helps better the future of not only Hong Kong students but international students as a whole by learning how CSB-SJU goes about recruiting student from Hong Kong and impacts these students' lives to make them more global citizens.
