Analytical Population Dynamics

An integration of the approaches of both the practical and the theoretical ecologist, this work aims to establish a methodology of the analysis of biological populations. It concentrates on the practical use of simulation and of population dynamic models, particularly the use of stochastic difference equations. The book covers a wide range of biological examples, including great tits, titmice, Canada lynx, spruce budworm and laboratory populations. It should be of interest to applied and theoretical ecologists, wildlife managers, upper undergraduate and postgraduate students in ecology.
