Alum-treated archaeological wood : characterization and re-conservation

This research contributes to the field of conservation science and the publication focuses on how earlier methods for preserving wood using alum may lead to salt depositions which may cause serious decay on wood in museum collections. These are the results from a research project carried out in collaboration between the Swedish National Heritage Board and The Swedish History Museum.
