This book presents fresh analyses of the burning issues in Afghanistan -- a country of ancient trade and commerce and modern foreign invasions and terrorism. At this time it is impossible to predict the probability of success of the Western military efforts to superimpose their version of a modern (and interdependent) country on the wildly independent and sometimes vicious clans roaming this desolate country.
