Adventures in Fjord Landscapes

At the heart of the longest, deepest, narrowest and most beautiful fjords in the world, the Sunnmøre Alps rise steeply. People have cleared their fields, built their houses and clawed their way onto mountain shelves high above the fjord banks. Queen Sonja has constantly returned to the fjord landscape of western Norway to walk in the mountains here. Ørnulf Opdahl's depictions of his home region have revitalised Norwegian landscape painting. 

Now we meet the two of them in the book Adventures in fjordlandscapes, in a conversation penned by Hugo Lauritz Jenssen. In this richly illustrated book, the two reflect on the traces of those who once lived their lives in this landscape - and on how the impressions of nature are brought into the art they create.
