Advances in Energy Research

This volume contains a selection of six chapters which review current advances in energy research, covering a wide variety of topics within that category. Chapter One analyzes the carbon footprint of hospitals and a number of potential solutions for their energy needs via “smart energy.” The second chapter discusses the potential for using ferroelectric materials in photovoltaic energy harvesting and storage devices. Chapter Three reviews the development of advanced triboelectric nanogenerators for wave energy harvesting. The fourth chapter discusses potential alternative materials with higher capacity for energy in rechargeable batteries by examining the redox reactions for anomalous capacity. Chapter Five examines the potential of energy recovery and power production from butchery wastes in Malaysia. The final chapter reviews progress in biomass combustion and its application to energy sciences.
