Accompanying measures for a gold mine in nearby villages

The aim of this study is to draw up a hydro-agricultural development programme for the people living near the Morila S.A. gold mine in the Sikasso region of southern Mali.The objectives are to - design and size the main works that make up the overall hydro-agricultural development plan; - estimate the overall cost of the hydro-agricultural development programme for the resources in the study area and plan its implementation.The approach adopted consists of: - carrying out a literature review on hydro-agricultural development in Morocco and Mali; - identifying the resources in the study area that can be developed; - carrying out socio-economic surveys among the people living in the study area and drawing up an overall hydro-agricultural development plan; - carrying out technical feasibility studies for the hydro-agricultural development plan selected; - estimating the overall cost of the project and planning the work.
