About Loss

The deeper your love, the deeper your loss feels. The path to healing is a bumpy ride. The stages of grief are often filled with potholes, wrong turns, and much uncertainty. Losing someone you love hurts. You feel vulnerable and alone and need something to help you feel less alone. About Loss does not pretend to have the answers. There are none. The poems in About Loss are written in free verse. They are simple and direct, yet emotional and beautiful. Love is part of loss, and this book has many love poems as well as poems of heartache. Your love was unique. Your loss is unique, too. About Loss is divided into two sections. The first section, titled "e;The Heartbreak of a Breakup,"e; comprises most of the book and describes the emotional turmoil following a breakup, which may also resonate with the experience of losing a spouse. The second section, "e;The Loss of a Loved One,"e; is shorter and consists of individual poems focusing on the death of a loved one. There are no quick-fix cures for losing someone you love. If your loss is from a breakup, divorce, or death of a romantic partner, these poems will attempt to put into words what is nearly impossible to describe when you are going through it.
