Anure de Balzac is considered one of the most famous writers of all novels. Through his hands, the transformation of the novel from a mere "tale" or narration of real or imaginary events into an integrated artistic construction, full of life and events, and subject to clear artistic standards, was completed. There is no clearer evidence of Balzac''s literary status than the fact that his works long ago transcended the framework of French literature and were translated into many human languages. He is - next to Shakespeare and Dickens - the most published writer in various languages. It is strange that the Arab library lacks most of his works. It is a novel in which the writer seems to have chosen its heroine through the many letters he received from women around the age of thirty, especially those who stood out to him with the strength of their personality. Most likely, she was very popular with the people. A wise experience was able to convince Balzac - when he met her - of the firmness of her principles, and it was a source of inspiration for most of the positions of strictness that permeated Mrs. DeGilmont''s life in this novel. This thirty-year-old woman, "DeGilmont," is experiencing emotional, intellectual, and physical maturity. She had married at a young age to a senior officer and had a son and a daughter from him, but her true desires that were deep within her were soon revealed, and she lived through pain and tragedies and fell in love with a young diplomat named Charles Devandinis. Therefore, Balzac traces the life of this woman and presents to readers an exceptional novel that dismantles the social fabric and questions morals, social customs, and the human soul with profound boldness, where the life of the thirty-year-old woman is between society''s pressures, customs, and coercions towards her, and her love and heart, fascinated by love and the desire for liberation. We can notice that despite the antiquity of the period in which the novel was written and about it, it still represents a sample of what women face, especially those in their thirties, and the contradictions and dualities they suffer from imposed on them by a social structure that does not care about the individual as much as it cares about its superficial, false structure. There is no value for the self in the midst of the group or The importance of her dreams, desires, obsessions, and ideas, which is what we are also suffering from today, despite the great overall development that humanity has witnessed, and despite the passage of more than two centuries since the publication of the novel, it is still expressive of the thirties, albeit with a formal difference in the issues between yesterday and today.
