Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. The perpetual function and interest of preaching must be the justification for the appearance of a new book in a field already so well filled. No book of the past, however helpful, can wholly meet the need of a calling that grows in difficulty and importance with every age.
