In 1988, Pope Saint John Paul II wrote an apostolic exhortation to women, Mulieris Dignitatem, "e;On the Dignity and Vocation of Women."e; Rather than directly attack feminist ideologies, the pope presented a coherent vision of women as central to the good news of Jesus Christ. The reflections center on the spousal love between God and Israel, and between Jesus Christ and His Church. Centered on the role of Mary, the pope showed that her role as both virgin and mother is deeply fruitful, and relevant for today. This study guide includes essays and Bible studies inspired by each chapter of Mulieris Dignitatem.
