Travels of a Pink Slouch Hat

Not just a travel book, but a delightful and humorous account of a journey taken by a retired couple from Australia. The trip starts with 5 days in Singapore, then 18 nights on a Holland America cruise, starting from Singapore. The ship visited ports in Thailand, Cambodia, Viet Nam, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Nagasaki and finished in Kobe, Japan. Then covers another week spent in Japan. This account describes their experiences on the cruise boat and with the local people in each country, also describing some history and points of interest that a prospective traveller would enjoy reading before embarking on a similar trip. The book was written by Stephen Kendall, except for the last chapter on Japan, as Stephen, sadly passed away a year later, before being able to complete it. His wife Lynn, completed and published the book in his memory.
