The Wealth of the World

Most people almost agree that wealth is money. According to them, a man is rich as long as he has a large sum of money. If a person is able to pay a pound or ten dollars in cash for a meal, then he is undoubtedly richer than someone who finds it difficult to pay a few pennies for a cup of tea or a slice of bread. He is also richer than that farmer who gets a few handfuls of rice for his daily food.The wealth or poverty of a nation is often measured by the amount of money it possesses, including the balance of gold stored in the state bank. However, all of that wealth, whether it is gold bullion or printed banknotes...that wealth has no value or benefit unless it has the purchasing power that enables the owner of the wealth to obtain his needs in exchange for it.
