The Frugal Wizard''s Handbook for Surviving Medieval England

A man wakes up in a forest in what appears to be medieval England, with no memory of his past, or what he is doing in this place. He is pursued by a group from his time, and his only hope of survival is to lie until he regains his lost memory, thus allying himself with a group of local residents, while at the same time he has doubts about their superstitions. . The only help he has from the real world is a guidebook bearing the name of the thrifty magician for survival in medieval England, but the copy he had with him exploded during his move. The scraps he managed to salvage contain hints about the truth of his situation, but will he be able to understand them in time to find an opportunity? To survive
